Can you believe it's been about a week, and I've actually made over 7 posts? I feel a tear coming on...
Remember back in the good ol' days, when there were only five people following this blog, and all of them people I knew in real life?
Now, of course, the numbers have swelled to the vast hordes that they are today. It was a long, arduous effort, but I thank you guys for sticking around all this time.
Wait.
So I'm still working on that short story; I didn't forget. There are no robots or shapeshifting people or acronyms in it, but I started the story before you guys posted any of that. Next time, I promise.
What I'm learning in this process is that there's a lot of going back over the same ground in writing. I'm writing a tentative summary, then looking over it for plot holes and fixing it. Then I give the characters depth...then I revise the summary with the new characters, look it over for plot holes, and fix it. Then I work on the setting...revise the summary with the new setting, look it over for plot holes, and fix it. Etc., etc.
This is the first time I'm going to be writing a complete story following all the right steps, so I'm looking forward to it. It might be complete crap, but it's a good experience.
Here's an interesting question: what book am I reading right now? +200 points to the first person who gets it right, you clever devil.
Hint: It's possible to figure it out using only the information on this blog, the Internet, and a tuning fork.
The tuning fork may or may not actually be necessary.
That's all for now, and thanks for reading!
Considering you mentioned that you were reading the Bible, and hadn't mentioned finishing it yet, I would say the Bible.. lol
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! It seems like just yesterday....
ReplyDeleteOkay, well, the Bible doesn't exactly count. I read the Bible regularly all the time. It's kind of understood.
ReplyDeleteYou're a cheater, always scheming to get those delicious points.
